The Palestinian Prisoners Club said prisoners initiated a gradual resistance program in protest of maximum Israeli punitive measures since the Sept. 6 Gilboa prison escape.
The Palestinian Prisoners Club confirmed that prisoners agreed on a gradual Resistance program, which began last night and will last until the end of this week.
Palestinian prisoners are protesting punitive measures imposed by the Israeli occupation since the Sept. 6 Gilboa prison escape, singling out prisoners with ties to Islamic Jihad with double arbitrary measures and punishment practices.
The prisoner’s gradual resistance program includes defiance and rejection of “Israel’s” punitive measures and illegal laws.
The Prisoner’s Club stressed that “the continuity of the step function depends on “Israel’s” response to the prisoners’ demands over the next period, affirming that the situation will be re-evaluated next Friday.

“Israel” began a collective punishment of Palestinian prisoners following the Sept. 6 Gilboa prison escape. Furthermore, Israeli occupation authorities have also implemented maximum punitive measures on the six Palestinian prisoners who broke out of Gilboa Prison in form of prolonged solitary confinement.
“Israel’s” Maximum punitive measures on Palestinian Prisoners include a policy which doesn’t allow the prisoners out of the prison yard without handcuffs and leg cuffs, subjecting them to constant harassment and searches, denying them their right to see their families, and prohibiting them from purchasing basic prison groceries.
According to the Addameer organization, there are approximately 4,650 Palestinian detainees in Israeli prisons, including 40 female prisoners, 200 child prisoners, and 520 administrative detainees.
