The United Arab Emirates topped the list of countries from which the Egyptian market witnessed capital inflows through corporate investment in the period from 2014 to the end of 2022.
Abu Dhabi accounted for 57.22% of capital flows from foreign countries to Egypt in the aforementioned period.
Official government sources stated that Emirati capital flows into Egypt are growing, starting from $624.18 million in 2014, to reach $2.2 billion in 2022.
The sources indicate that the Kingdom of Bahrain ranks second in the list of foreign countries investing in Egypt since 2014, with a share of 9.41% of those flows, at a value of about $368.57 million in 2022 only, followed by the Netherlands in third place with a share of 9% of capital flows and investments coming to Egypt. last year with a value of $352.71 million.
According to the sources, Italy comes fourth in the list of countries with capital flows in Egypt during 2022, with a share of 8.28%, at a value of $324.64 million.
Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Syria and Libya are among the 10 countries that invested the most in Egypt last year.
The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia comes in fifth place in the list of countries with investment flows in Egypt during the year 2022, as indicated by the sources, with a value of $146.95 million, followed by Kuwait with a value of $133.16 million, then Syria with a value of $107.39 million.
This comes as the State of Libya occupied the tenth place with a total value of capital flows during the year 2022 amounting to only $50 million.
