The Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) reported today, Wednesday, that annual inflation in Turkey decreased last April to 43.68% from 50.50% recorded by the index last March.
“In April 2023, inflation reached 2.39% on a monthly basis and 43.68% on an annual basis,” the Turkish Statistical Institute said in a statement.
The Central Bank of Turkey expects inflation in the country by the end of this year 2023 to reach 22.3%.
The economic data for the month of April comes less than two weeks before the presidential and legislative elections scheduled in Turkey.
