Al Mayadeen’s correspondent reported that an Israeli soldier was left injured after a ramming operation in the town of Huwara, south of Nablus.
Our correspondent confirmed that the perpetrator swiftly retreated from the scene causing the occupation forces to deploy several checkpoints and roadblocks in the vicinity: even forcing shops in the area to close down.
Local sources reported that the occupation forces set up several checkpoints in the villages surrounding the town of Huwara, and intensified security measures at the checkpoints at the entrances to Nablus, in search of the perpetrator who injured the soldier.
Two weeks ago, during her first visit to the UK since being appointed as UN special rapporteur on human rights in the occupied territories last year, Italian lawyer Francesca Albanese stated that “Israel” treats the Palestinian territories as colonies that belong to it.
Albanese told The Guardian, “For me, apartheid is a symptom and a consequence of the territorial ambitions Israel has for the land of what remains of an encircled Palestine … The cause is the colonies. Israel is a colonial power maintaining the occupation in order to get as much land as possible for Jewish-only people. And this is what leads to the numerous violations of international law.”
