Demonstrations are sweeping across the West Bank and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 in protest of the aggression on Jenin.
Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948 took to the streets to protest the Israeli occupation’s aggression on the city of Jenin, which has been ongoing since the early hours of Monday.
In the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948, citizens in the city of Shefa-Amr staged a demonstration, while a solidarity stand took place in Al-Jazzer Square in the city of Akka, in support of the people of Jenin.
At the entrance of the city of Umm Al-Fahm, Palestinians organized a protest against the massacre being committed in Jenin, while other rallies were held at the entrance of Umm Al-Fahm, in the city of Haifa, and in Al-Jazzer Square in Akka.
The people of occupied Al-Quds also partook in the events, expressing their solidarity with the people of Jenin and mourning the martyrs by going on strike in the town of Kafr Aqab.
Israeli media voiced their concerns about the solidarity rallies that took place within the Palestinian territories occupied in 1948.
In the occupied West Bank, hundreds of young people took part in a popular protest in Tulkarm, showing their support for the resistance and the people of the Jenin refugee camp. The demonstrators chanted in support of the resistance and the Jenin Brigade.
There was another popular demonstration in support of the people of Jenin in Nablus, with the protestors gathering in downtown Nablus and chanting in support of the people and the freedom fighters.
Across the Palestinian land occupied by the Israeli occupation, the people of Gaza protested near the separation wall east of Gaza City, underlining their dissatisfaction with the situation and setting tires on fire in protest of the crimes being committed against the people of Jenin.
Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces launched gas grenades at the demonstrators in a bid to disperse them.
In the early hours of Monday, the Israeli occupation army announced the launching of a large-scale military operation targeting the city of Jenin and its refugee camp, north of the occupied West Bank.
According to a number of Israeli media outlets, the decision was made to begin the aggression on the city of Jenin and its refugee camp following the Palestinian Resistance’s use of explosives during the last IOF aggression on the city, on June 19.
The occupation’s Walla! news website noted that in the past months, “the Israeli security and military establishment’s focus on Jenin increased,” as its presence around it was recently reinforced with additional brigades.
In response to the ongoing Israeli aggression against Jenin and its refugee camp, the Palestinian Presidency considered that the Israeli occupation forces’ assault on the city is yet another war crime against the Palestinian people.
The spokesperson for the Palestinian presidency, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, stressed in a statement that “what the Israeli occupation government is doing in the city of Jenin and its camp is a new war crime against our defenseless people.”
