The defense ministry confirms that all targets chosen for the overnight strike were indeed destroyed.
The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed on Sunday that the Russian Armed Forces sent an overnight missile strike on facilities that manufactured drone boats near the city of Odessa. The ministry added that foreign mercenaries were reported to be stationed there.
In a statement, the ministry said: “Last night, the Russian armed forces launched a group strike with long-range high-precision sea- and air-launched weapons on facilities where terrorist acts against the Russian Federation were being prepared using uncrewed boats, as well as on places where they were being manufactured in the vicinity of the city of Odesa. Foreign mercenaries were present at the affected facilities”.
It added that all targets chosen were destroyed.
This follows after Ukraine blew up the Togliatti-Odessa ammonia pipeline in Kharkov, with some casualties reported last month.
According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the blast was “a designated terrorist attack,” and those injured have received proper medical care.
The ministry detailed that “ammonia residues are being drained from the Ukrainian territory through the damaged sections of the pipeline. There are no casualties among Russian soldiers.”
