In February, Russia recorded an annual inflation rate of 10.99%, and thus ranked 50th in terms of price growth among all countries in the world.
The available data indicate that the highest values in this field were in Lebanon and Argentina – the highest annual inflation rate was recorded in Lebanon (190%) and then in Argentina (102.5%). Zimbabwe, which a month ago was leading the rating with an inflation rate of 230%, fell to third place, and this indicator there in February reached 92.3%. Sudan came in fourth place, with a price growth rate of 63.3%, and Suriname in fifth place, with a rate of 58%.
At the end of winter, the maximum values of inflation in Europe were as follows: in Moldova (25.9%), Hungary (25.4%) and Ukraine (24.9%), and the minimum values - in Switzerland and Liechtenstein at the level of 3.4%.
In the Middle East, Lebanon, Turkey (55.2%) and Egypt (31.9%) led price growth, while inflation was most modest in Oman at 1.9%.
Among Asian countries, prices rose the most compared to the same period last year in Sri Lanka (53.6%), Laos (41.3%) and Pakistan (31.5%).
In February, China had the lowest inflation rate in the region and the world – just 1%.
In general, half of the world’s countries recorded price growth rates above 8.7% in February, including Russia, which averaged 10.99%, and came in the fiftieth position.
