Novak said, during a visit to Iran during which he signed a set of agreements: “We discussed this issue in detail. The Iranian side showed above all its interest in supplying oil derivatives to northern Iran in an amount of between 4 and 5 million tons. In principle, such deliveries are possible, and now The Ministry of Energy will work to solve these problems with our companies.”
The Russian Deputy Prime Minister added: “It is necessary to decide on trade conditions and logistics,” and indicated that the issue of regulating the supply of oil products, including the use of the Makhachkala port, will be worked on in the near future.
Yesterday, the Iranian Oil Ministry announced the conclusion of 10 memorandums of understanding in the oil fields with Moscow.
For his part, the Iranian Oil Minister indicated that Russia and Iran have good capabilities in the field of oil and gas, and said: “We have consistent decisions in OPEC +, and in the thirteenth government, following the meetings of the presidents of the two countries, memorandums of understanding and good contracts were signed to develop relations, especially in the field of Oil and gas and in the oil and petrochemical industries.
He added that Russia and Iran are two major countries in the region, and both of them face sanctions and have a good capacity for joint cooperation, and with mutual support, we can abort these sanctions.
And the Minister of Oil continued: “After the meeting of the sixteenth joint committee, we held meetings in the presence of representatives of the ministries of the two countries, which led to the signing of contracts and memorandums of understanding.”
