Protests are continuing to take place around the world in support of Palestine.
Abdel Hamid Siyam, a professor at Rutgers University, says governments will not be able to ignore these demonstrations as they grow in number and intensity.
“The demonstration in Washington on Saturday was enormous with almost a million people marching in the streets. The leadership cannot ignore this, especially because there are a lot of young voices there saying their leadership is not representing them. I think that will put some pressure especially with elections coming up,” Siyam told Al Jazeera.
“With demonstrations from South Korea to Brazil, Gaza has become the ‘nom de guerre’ of people fighting for justice. This cannot be ignored.”
