All three fighters were from the eastern village of Kfar Kila, where the Israeli army had launched an attack earlier in the day. Hezbollah identified them as Hussein Yahya, Moussa Sheet and Jihad Sheet.
The Israeli army had said it attacked several targets in Lebanon, including “military sites” where Hezbollah was operating.
Hezbollah has lost dozens of men since it started trading fire with Israel after the Gaza war broke out. The Iran-allied group eulogises fighters who die in the current conflict as having been killed “on the road to Jerusalem” in a nod to the Palestinian struggle.
The violence at the Israeli-Lebanese border has been escalating amid growing fear of an all-out war.
