Egypt’s ambassador to the Senegalese capital, Dakar, Khaled Aref, said that the Ministry of Agriculture in Senegal praised the Egyptian wheat seeds and their productivity, after it tested them within the framework of the existing cooperation between the two countries.
The Egyptian ambassador confirmed that the Senegalese side used wheat seeds “Bani Suef 5”, “Misr 1” and “Misr 2”, which were developed at the Agricultural Research Center in Egypt.
He explained that cooperation between the two countries in this field opens new horizons for developing relations and doubling the volume of trade exchange with Egypt, as the Senegalese side praised the productivity of Egyptian seeds, which achieved results that exceeded their expectations, and were able to adapt to the environment and climate in Senegal.
Aref referred to the visit of the Senegalese official to Egypt last November, where he met with the Minister of Agriculture, to discuss prospects for cooperation, and conveyed to him his country’s aspiration to benefit from the Egyptian experience in the agricultural field.
