Trump: Head of Taliban’s Political Bureau Called Me Crazy

Former US President Donald Trump revealed how the head of the Taliban political bureau, Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar, reacted when he learned of the US withdrawal from Afghanistan last year.

Trump told his supporters during a rally in Georgia, Saturday, that Baradar was informed through a phone call or message that the US military left, so his first reaction was saying “you are crazy” in his language.

The former US President also stressed that the reason why the Democrats are always after him is that they believe he has a “big mouth” and talks a lot.

He defended himself, saying that he is not a talkative person, but he is someone who always speaks the truth.

At Saturday’s rally, Trump blamed US President Joe Biden for sending people to Afghanistan to help with the withdrawal with no clue about the situation, including the 13 service members killed in an ISIS terrorist attack.

Trump also claimed that the evacuees were not eligible for evacuation and that the Biden administration had “abandoned hundreds of American citizens in the enemy-occupied territory.”

Former US President Donald Trump initiated the withdrawal of US forces from Afghanistan in February 2020, but the agreement between Trump and the Taliban did not include the Afghan government.

The United States also began evacuating Americans and Afghan allies shortly after the Taliban took control of the Afghan capital, Kabul, on August 15, and Biden considered extending the August 31 deadline to withdraw all forces from the country. However, the Taliban threatened that if the United States does not leave by the set deadline, there would be consequences.
